What Happens If My Vehicle Gets Repossessed?
When your vehicle is repossessed, you may have the ability to get it back. Information on ways you may be able to get your repossessed vehicle back can be found here. If you are not able to do so, your vehicle will be sold, and proceeds will be applied to amounts owed under your contract.
Please note that, if the proceeds from the sale of your vehicle are insufficient to cover all amounts you owe under your contract to the extent permitted by law, you are still responsible for the remainder. Conversely, if the proceeds are more than the amount owed, we will send you the excess.
After your vehicle is repossessed, remember that any personal items and property inside it still belongs to you. Your personal property should be held by the repossession agency for a set time, as provided by state laws and regulations. You will be responsible for arranging to pick up your belongings.
