Can I make repairs to my leased vehicle so I don’t incur wear and use charges?

Absolutely. In fact, we encourage you to make repairs before returning your leased vehicle. To help identify what does and doesn’t constitute excessive wear and use (EWU), we recommend scheduling a courtesy pre-inspection with your originating dealer (or any participating Toyota dealer). The service department will inspect your vehicle for things like dings, scratches, mileage use, and more, and you will receive a report detailing what they found.

You then have the option of repairing any EWU items before returning your vehicle at lease-end. Your Toyota dealer should be happy to help in that regard, or you are also free to have another trusted shop handle the repairs – either way, keep your receipts for any repairs made. If you don’t address the EWU items discovered in your pre-inspection, you may be subject to charges once you return your vehicle.
